Syed Muhammad Rafiq Shah is working as Advisor, Ombudsman (Mohtasib) Punjab, Regional Office Rawalpindi and Jhelum. He did his Master in Political Science. He earned Gold Medal and President of Pakistan Award of Rs.3000/- in LL.B and secured 1st position in F.E.L and LL.B from Peshawar University in 1963. He was appointed as Civil Judge in 1966 and promoted as Senior Civil Judge in 1976 and Additional District & Sessions Judge in 1978. He was promoted as District & Sessions Judge in 1987. He served as District & Sessions Judge in seven districts of Punjab i.e. Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Chakwal, Sialkot, Kasur, Lahore and Gujrat. He also served as Senior Special Judge Anti-Corruption Punjab from 1998 to March 2002. He served as Judge Banking Court Lahore from 2004 to 2007. He was appointed as Senior Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law & Parliamentary Affairs where he served for 2 years i.e. from 2010 to 2012. He was appointed as Official Member NIRC Islamabad and acted as Focal Person for Prime Minister’s Secretariat and Spokes Person for Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad for two years.
